Software engineering is a highlight driver of development and business support. It carries out some issues, such as the high cost and failure projects. These issues are considered challenges for several scholars and researchers for more than two decades; however, today, the software crisis continues. Software factories are presented as an exciting solution to improve these challenges and to reduce production costs. Therefore, new models demanded from higher education institutions that include different stakeholders within an innovation ecosystem.
This research implements a software factory, focusing on software components for smart/cognitive cities environment. Early outcomes show that software factories could increase students’ professional skills to broaden their linking with the industry, in fact nowadays several research project has been carry on.

We have a broad of transdisciplinary researches includes mathematic & statistics, psychologist, informatics as well as education science. Developer team is conformed by computer & science students from the penultimate carrier level, in this sense researcher faced with in theorical models and the students implemented the model proposed according platform requested.
